Ok, so I haven't written a blog in like a month. I've had a few setbacks in my career that have left me feeling less than motivated. But I have taken pictures in my absence and will just post a few pix from those missing 30 or so days, enjoy! (I will get back to it!)

Inconsiderate People Are Annoying...

You know what grinds my gears? Inconsiderate people that only think about themselves and don't think about (or just don't care about) how it affects the people around them. Several particular instances have surfaced in the past few days, and I am still irritated by them. One will be easily avoided on the next go-round.

Episode 1: Alcoholic Amnesia

So you tell me you wanna come down and go out for your 21st birthday, AWESOME! Great time to hang out and celebrate your new found ability to legally purchase alcohol. It's a rite of passage that is highly spoken of to college-age kids. Mine was pretty crappy, and I only had the alcohol that I ended up buying for everyone, so I wanna make sure you celebrate yours in a drunken stupor on my dime if that's what you desire.... Do you think it might have been okay if you had said, "Hey I'm not coming! I decided to stay home and get wasted"? Even a simple text with caveman-like grunts to that effect would have been nice. You know how I found out? Facebook pictures after the fact, and of course the lack of hearing from you. Then you skip out on other things you had planned as well...typical. But I'll chalk this one up to immaturity and not get my hopes up next time. I hope you had a blast and can remember it all...

Episode 2: The Bait and Switch

Hey, let's surprise a close friend with birthday wishes on video! Let's do it tomorrow after work! Oh, wait.... I totally ditched you to do it with other friends, even though you were considerate enough to be waiting for me at home instead of meeting up with the aforementioned friends, that's cool right? Um, NOT!

Episode 3: Douchebag Debauchery

'Ring, Ring'... Ok, so because you feel like I am so indebted to you and I have no life, I'll babysit for 2-3 hours for you. You haven't randomly planned my nighttime endeavors for me in a few months, so why not? What you failed to mention was that your kids had HOMEWORK!!! You also forgot to mention that they don't have school tomorrow, so you're gonna just expect that they'll spend all day with me and my mom FOR FREE! See the stupidity here? And as I type we're slowly inching towards Hour 4 with your kids, FOR FREE! You know who should watch your kids? The guy that's always asking my mom to watch your kids so you guys can go out. But wait!!! You don't want him to do that because then he'd know you're going out without him. Awkward.... I don't care though, if you wanted to have a social life, you shouldn't have had 2 kids. Or even with that, maybe you should invest in a babysitter, or at least offer to pay me. You stopped buying me stuff when I graduated college, so should I stop babysitting for free when your divorce was finalized? I think that sounds fair... So for you to tell me that I'm jealous of you because you have "so much more" than I do, I would guess you're right because you have a sister that's stupid enough to still babysit for you when I know I'm not gonna get a single penny for this, and possibly not even a thank you. And as we reach Hour 4, I am JUST hearing from you saying that you knew they didn't have school and you didn't answer my MANY calls about their homework. If I was out and left my kids at home, I might not check on them, but I would at least leave my phone on and charged in case I needed to be reached. I guess I know what to do next time... Say HELL NO, PAY ME! You can't have your midnight trysts on my dime, because you haven't GIVEN ME ANY! Bullshit to the max, in my opinion.

Well at least my rants have somewhat appeased me, maybe I will soon be in my own bed finishing up the latest awesome K-Drama I've been watching.

Rawr! Sexy Beast!

Grrrr! Hola peeps! Here's a look I did this morning after stumbling across it last night on Makeup Bee. It's inspired by a look on there that was inspired by a picture of Kylie Minogue. Haven't heard music from her in a while, but she has an awesome makeup artist anyway! :) I am not doing a tutorial on it right now, if ever due to the fact that I just kinda winged it and it is not as neat as I would have liked. I used a BH Cosmetics 120 palette (1st edition), Sugarpill in Bulletproof, Wet n Wild eyeshadow in black, and about 3 different eyeliners to do this, if you wanna give a crack at it and put up some pix of your own. I REALLY love felt eyeliner pens because I can draw better with them, especially for something like this where I need to do more than just draw a line on my top lid, but I found that the eyeshadow kind of clogged up my pens :( I'll have to figure out how to combat that next time, because when I tried to go in and finish up the design, it was nearly disastrous! Since that happened with the outline, I filled in most of the design with the 2 black shadows, which explains why it's a little shimmery still. I kind of liked that effect though, so I would probably do it again on the next try. I would however go with matte shadows instead of the shimmery ones I used this time. I also used a random orange lipgloss, but I'm too lazy to get up and find out the name. If anyone cares, I'll let you know.

Boy Meets World II

So here's where I pick up where my last blog about my lovely boyfriend has gone on his cross-country trek for his job. When we last left off, he was heading to Grand Prarie, TX. Since then he's been quite a few places, had a mini-vacation, even come to visit and tailgate we me and a few of our friends. Now I'll be picking up, and catching up to where he is now, Crossett, AR.

• Spring Valley, IL- Spring Valley was founded in 1884 in the heart of the coal fields of Northern Illinois for the express purpose of mining of coal. The building of Spring Valley was the enterprise of Henry J. Miller, one of the first settlers of this area, and his son-in-law, Charles J. Devlin. They conceived the idea of establishing a coal metropolis, in the Valley and on the slopes of the bluffs bordering Spring Creek, in the southeastern corner of Bureau County. Spring Valley like every other coal town came to know almost every nationality in Europe. Many arriving here attired in their native dress tagged and ticketed from their port of entry. The town also developed a black section known as the "Location." In 1905, the Bureau County Republican Newspaper stated that there were 32 distinct nationalities groups in Spring Valley. 
• Janesville, WI- A city founded in 1835 on the east bank of the Rock River. Named for an early settler, Henry Janes, early development depended on water power from the river and an early territorial road that included the first bridge across the Rock River. Janesville was the site of the first Wisconsin State Fair in 1851, attended by approximately 10,000 people. A tree that once stood in downtown Courthouse Park was the site of a lynch mob that hanged a convicted murderer in 1859. • Tontitown, AR,- A city in Washington County, Arkansas. The population was 942 at the 2000 census. Tontitown was founded in the late 19th century, mostly by Italian settlers. Since 1898, Tontitown has held an annual grape festival in mid-August, which celebrates the harvest and the town's Italian American heritage. The festival features a carnival, a craft fair and a homemade spaghetti dinner served to thousands. The Duggar family from TLC's 19 Kids and Counting are well known residents.
• Springdale, AR- A city in Washington and Benton counties in the northwestern region of Arkansas in the United States. According to 2010 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 69,797. Springdale is the location of the headquarters of Tyson Foods Inc., the largest meat producing company in the world, and has been dubbed the "Chicken Capital of the World" by several publications. Locals often refer to it as "Chickenopolis" due to the high volume of chicken-hauling semi-tractor trailers. In 1840 a Baptist Church was founded in the town. The building was burned down during the American Civil War but rebuilt in 1868. In 1878 the town was incorporated with the name of Springdale. 
• Newport, AR- A city in Jackson County, Arkansas, 84 miles northeast of Little Rock, on the White River. In 1900, 2,866 people lived in Newport, Arkansas; in 1910, 3,557. The population was 7,811 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Jackson County Newport is home to a campus of the Arkansas State University system, with particular focus on training in transportation careers. Newport is known as the town in which Sam Walton owned a Ben Franklin store prior to starting Wal-Mart.
• Opelika, AL- A city in and the county seat of Lee County in the east central part of Alabama. The first white settlers in the area now known as Opelika arrived in the late 1830s and established a community called Lebenon. After the removal of the native peoples by force in 1836-37, the area became known as "Opelika", taken from a word in the Muskogee language meaning "large swamp". Settlement was sporadic until the late 1840s, when Opelika quickly became a commercial center with the coming of the railroad. Joe Thomas, a Platinum R&B Recording Artist is an Opelika native.

• Hampton, GA- A city in southwestern Henry County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 3,857. The city was once known as Bear Creek or Bear Creek Station, named for a creek that runs through the area. The town was moved and renamed when the railroad was built approx. one mile to the east. The city is named for Brig. General Wade Hampton an American soldier in Revolutionary War and War of 1812. 
• Vidalia, GA- As of the 2000 census, the city population was 10,491. It is the largest city in Toombs, but is not the county seat. Like so many towns in the region, it grew up around a train depot that serviced farmers in the area who grew such crops as pecans and tobacco. The famous sweet onions were not an important crop until much later. Most people know Vidalia because of its onions. The Vidalia onion was first produced about 1931 when a farmer named Mose Coleman discovered that the onions he produced were sweeter than other onions. Other farmers started producing the same onion, and in the 1940s the Vidalia onion became an item sold to tourists. Vidalia onion growers have protected their brand, and today all onions labelled Vidalia must be grown in one of thirteen different counties in Georgia or in specific portions of seven other counties. Because of their taste and reputation, they are able to command an increased price in the marketplace. In 1990, the Vidalia Onion was named as the "official vegetable" of the state of Georgia. 
• Mobile, AL- The third most populous city in the Southern US state of Alabama and is the county seat of Mobile County. It is located on the Mobile River and the central Gulf Coast of the United States. The population within the city limits was 195,111 during the 2010 census. It is the largest municipality on the Gulf Coast between New Orleans, Louisiana and St. Petersburg, Florida. Mobile began as the first capital of colonial French Louisiana in 1702. The city gained its name from the Native American Mobilian tribe that the French colonists found in the area of Mobile Bay. During its first 100 years, Mobile was a colony for France, then Britain, and lastly Spain. Mobile first became a part of the United States of America in 1810, with the annexation of West Florida under President James Madison. Best Served Cold

Hola, Peeps! Here's my next tutorial, YAY! I got the inspiration from a video on Youtube by BionicVaporGirl. She used the (now discontinued) Sugarpill palette in Cold Heart. Since I have all of the pressed shadows, I still had all of them, but it involved both palettes and my single Bulletproof. So here goes nothing!

First as usual, I primed my eyes. Then I put down a white base, using a small concealer brush and my finger. Then all across my top lid I put Afterparty.

After that, I went in with a contour brush and filled in the outer corner and my crease with Bulletproof. Getting  both eyelids to look even was a bit tricky, and honestly I'm not sure it ever got that way. But hey, what can you do?

After that was sufficient, I went to the inner corners and added a bit of Tako, just to make it stand out a bit. I forgot to take a picture of that step though. :-( After that, I did my bottom lid in Poison Plum.

YAY! So finished with the hard part. Then all I had to do was go in with the eyeliner pencil on my water line an the eyeliner pen on my top lid. I'm getting better at drawing straight lines, woo hoo! Also added some mascara on my top and bottom lashes.

Then, for the FIRST TIME EVER, I successfully put on some false lashes. They were some half-lashes that went in the outer corner. While I did get them on successfully, my camera didn't want to focus during those pictures, so they're a bit fuzzy, lo siento.

Then my scary face! AHHHH!!!

Remembering New Orleans... With Makeup!

So today marks the 6th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina hitting the city that I love and call home. Even though it seems that the media has largely forgotten about us, we still face challenges everyday to make our community a little better and strive to regain what we once had. Now stepping off of my soapbox, I decided to do a makeup look today to pay tribute to the great state of Louisiana. For that reason I stuck mostly to using blue and white, the major colors of our flag.  Hope you guys enjoy!

Well first off this is what I looked like before I started....

AHHHH!!!! Lol, I had just gotten back from taking a tour of my neighborhood, taking pictures for my other blog post.
First I primed my eyes with UDPP, then I applied the NYX eyeshadow base to my lids with a small concealer brush and my finger (left index if you're curious). Then on the inner corners of my eyes, I placed Tako with my favorite smudge brush on the upper lids and an angled brush on the bottom lids.

Yeah, I know you can't see much of a difference between the base and the shadow, but let's pretend... Then I went in with Afterparty on the rest of the lids, using the same brushes respectively. I find it kind of hard to successfully blend white shadow into other colors, but fortunately this blue is light enough that it's not too much trouble. Or it could be that I've gotten better at blending since the last time I've tried. The world may never know...

Looking at my pictures, I realize that I forgot to take a picture after I did the top lid, so all of the blending you see here is only the bottom lid. Oops. Moving on... After I finished blending the Tako and the Afterparty to my liking, I started adding the Too Faced eyeshadow in Midnight Mist with a crease brush. I really like this color because it's purple, but depending on the angle it and also look blue and green. It has a lot of depth, so I'm pretty happy with it, even though it's a bit more expensive than what I normally spend ($18). I tried to concentrate the color mostly over the blue, but there is a little over the white as well, so that it has a uniform shape.

After that, I took a bent eyeliner brush and lined my eyes with the MUFE Flash Color in Bright Blue. At first I wasn't sure if I liked how the blue liner looked over the white shadow, but after seeing the final product I am pretty satisfied. However, I might try this look again without it. Before the liner had a chance to dry completely, I took the NYX glitter palette and pressed the dark blue glitter into the liner. After I was satisfied with my liner, I applied the mascara and lip gloss. It's a weird feeling to use a vibrating mascara wand. The shaking made it kind of hard to apply the mascara with my eye open. The vibrating also made my eye water, which leads my mind down all sorts of perverted avenues that involve vibrations and moisture, lol. But I digress... ANYWAYS! So this is what the final product looks like!

This lighting is mostly flash, with a little bit of window light thrown in. The rest of these pictures were taken right outside of my back door so I could have natural light. I don't think I was 100% successful with that because the flash went off a few times, but like I said it's mostly just sunlight.
